Music – what does it mean to you?

 

I grew up with all kinds of music. My father played all of his life in several bands as a bass player, but he could also play the regular guitar, harmonica, etc.. He never learned how to read the notes, just played by ear.

My father and mother both love(d) music and all different kinds of genre, so I grew up with the sounds of: Otis Redding, Percy Sledge, Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Andy Tielman, Kenny Rogers, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, George Benson, Waylon Jennings, Tina Turner, Santana, Bob Marley,  Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday,  etc.

Step out of your Comfort Zone

 

It feels so safe to operate from your comfort zone. I know I did for many years and created my own, same colleagues, office etc. From time to time I did change jobs to trigger myself, but in the company (bank) I already worked at, so in the same surroundings and with the same people. This felt comfortable. Then the company went bankrupt and I immediately lost my job. Friday I had one and Monday I sat at home wondering what to do. Now I was forced to get out of my comfort zone (which was really comfy after 10 years HAHA), this was scary as hell, but I had no choice. I had to apply for another job, prove myself again etc. (more…)

Healthier Lifestyle

 

Before I got on MY healthy eating habits, I always struggled with my body weight. All my life I have been on diets. My weight came on and off.

I’m always grateful to be a fan of all kind of sports, throughout my life I did: competition swimming, table tennis, basketball, squash and now for a pretty long time you can find me several times a week in the gym. First I started with ten hours a week, but I still could not get my body goal. Now I know that it mostly has to do with your eating habits.  (more…)
