• From Lynell on The struggle with writing and I began doubting myself!

I am so glad you wrote this post. I needed to read this.

I have been struggling with writer’s block for the first time in my life. It has been frustrating and upsetting. Writing is my passion and I absolutely love it, so not being able to write has been particularly disappointing.

I am still working on avoiding falling into the endless vortex that is social media. I was using it to alleviate the frustration of my writer’s block. But, I have since discovered that it is not helping me accomplish my goals and it’s certainly not helping me get any writing done.

I need to indulge more in reading, researching, and studying resources to help me grow and advance my business. I need to strengthen my knowledge base for my businesses so that I can strengthen the foundations upon which they are built.

Thank you so much for this post. I look forward to engaging with all that you’ll be doing.

I definitely need to get on track, go through the “Being Bacon” course again and stay focused on the things I want to do, the person I want to be and where I want to go!! Looking forward to meeting you in September. Love you.

  • From NelegeSmith on Why I became a Massage Therapist

Love your post Shirley.I have even more respect for you doing this then before, you knew as a child that you loved massages, that you were good at them, and you could make others feel good too. Some of the massages you do I’ve never heard of. I hope one day to get the pleasure of one of your massages. You and I are not so different when I went to Esthetics school in 2011 I had no ideal what it was but doing the treatments on people made me feel good because they felt good. I love helping people as well. I’m so proud of all that you’ve accomplished in your life and practice. Keep up the great work you do.. much love Nelege

  • From Crystal on Reading is so Relaxing. Do you like to Read?

Love this post! As a child, I read all the time. Depending on the length of the book, I’d read 3-5 books per week. At five or six years old, one of my favorites was “A Wrinkle In Time.” I also loved “White Fang,” the Black Beauty and Little House on the Prairie series and so many more! As I got older and books got longer and more complex- i.e., “Crime and Punishment,” “One Hundred Years of Solitude,” anything and everything by Shakespeare, “The Magic Mountain,” lots of books with mythological and philosophical themes, lots of different types of poetry, I went to 1-3 books a week. Then, during my colleges years which went on and off from 1995-2008, not much reading happened other than text books. I went to a college where two classes was considered full time because each semester lasted only eight weeks; we learned the same amount of information in half the time of a four year college where semesters last sixteen weeks so I stopped reading for fun. I typically took 3-4 classes per semester so the only things I had time to read were text books and other assigned reading. It wasn’t until last year I finally picked up reading again for fun, learning and self development. As you know, my reading list has become quite extensive just as yours has since PPU LOL My goal for this year was to read at least one book per week for fifty two weeks. So far I’ve read eighteen books and looking forward to reading so many more! I’m definitely looking forward to joining Coach Rho’s book club.

Hey there Shirl, I have to agree with Jenny (hi guys uh and gals!, like Jenny I am a friend of Shirley, we met at the gym) you are, obviously, a lot more confident. Have to say though, please do enjoy your food and cooking. It’s not sin to eat or drink whatever, just do it in moderation. But I guess everyone knows this.
Anyway, keep in touch, take care and reach your goal!!
    Love, Brennie

Hey Shirl, so we Dutchies have to deal with the English version now!
To my opinion it’s better this way…..now your Dutch followers will become more aware of your international popularity! ;)))))
As I wrote before in the Dutch blog, I feel privileged to be one of your first followers and having witnessed your blog being born. I’ve known you for several years now, and I can state that there’s a huge difference between the Shirley from back then and now. At core you’ve always been a warm, loving and caring person….luckily no change there! But nowadays you walk around with a confidence and happiness which makes you radiate at a almost blinding level. Again I will refer to my earlier Dutch comment…..
I hope Santa got everyone a new pair of sunglasses!
I’m so happy for you that you’ve come this far.
Where ever this journey leads to…..
to me you’re a living example of one of my favorite lines:
“halfway up the mountain, the view is also very beautiful”.
Enjoy your journey to the top!
    Love, Jenny

Hi Shirley….as you mentioned in your blog the best advertisement is the one which is spread by word…and this is also the way how I came to your blog (Jenny told me)…although I met you only for a while (exactly 2 cups of coffee after a great training), but you gave me the feeling you are a self-confident, warm and positive person who knows what she wants…it’s great to read you are making progress on your way, you are not afraid to challenge yourself and with this blog you try to be an inspiration for others….wish you only the best….everything is possible!!!!!
